My husband has been invited to go play golf in Curacao in October. If anyone has been to Curacao, information on the Island would help with my decision on if I try to get the time off to travel with him. What to see, do, avoid etc....
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Coyne,

Sorry you did not get a response on this. That's a Caribbean destination that I have not gotten to yet. Please come back and let us know what you find. I'm always intersted in islands and beaches!

    Chris,
Just got back and will write something long soon. Now for the short version.
Curacao's only city is a world heritage site with many buildings 300 to 400 years old. It has beaches, caves, hills, cliffs, lakes and valleys but is only 38 miles long. Still Dutch, Holland is every where though the natives speak Dutch, Spanish, English and their own language a mixture of all the above with native Indian mixed in. Highlights to see is the oldest Synagogue in continuous use in the Western hemisphere. An aquarium which features sea world type dolphin and seal shows and is only $20.00 for an entire week. Caves where slaves hid out in with interesting limestone formations. And Swimming, snorkeling and diving which would satisfy any sea lovers tastes.
Our hotel was taken care of by my husbands connections but there seems to be a wide selection of places to stay at every price level.
You may either get there on AA through MIA or SJU, once a week on CO from EWR or as I did take one of the many flights to AUA and purchase a revenue flight over to CUR on one of the island hoppers that run every hour or two. The ticket was around 75.00 OW walk-up. We rented a car at 100.00 for 4 days but then tacked on an extra driver and insurance. It was very easy driving around the island so no worries there.
    More soon.
