Hi, we flew to Cancun with our kids over winter break. Had a great time. Kids loved it! First time all inclusive for them. My husband and I want to go back to Mexico or an island resort (AI) just the two of us the first week of June. Where is somewhere easy to nonrev into and is reasonably priced? We are easy to please and do not require high class. Anything in DR? Or Cabo? Jamaica (Montego Bay)? We do not want to go back to Cancun. We will only be going for 4 nights and I don't want to spend more than a grand. Did I mention we are cheap? Or poor... I would love any suggestions.

Thanks,
Leigh

hey, Leigh! 4 nights in mexico?
would south of cancun interest you? the riviera maya has awesome resort that are nothing like cancun--cheap car rental for $20-25/day and the mid-range all-inclusives are well under $100/person for early june. try interlinetravel.com (no fees outside of 4 days booking)
delta service is good for places like LIR (Liberia Costa Rica) so if you want to splurge a little more, Occidental GRAND Papagayo is very deluxe--prices vary but it IS premier property in the area.
Islands are tougher with the schedules--daily service via ATL vary so much--some are wkly, some more sporadic, but also have service thru NY. Dominican Republic is not a bad choice for June--BUT--the resorts go from great to just so-so in price and amenities.
We liked the idea of Cabo until we went--most beaches are not swimmable, but if you like pools, the mountain/beach aspect is interesting. Haven't been back since! They really want you to pay for upgrades to ocean view rooms--so many are garden (that means parking lot frequently) so be aware.
Antigua might be good chocie--if you can get the Verandah for a song--might be possible--thru interline agency.
I have no good feelings about western carib at all--not my cup of tea whatsoever. outside costs are exorbitant.
Just my 2 cents worth--I've been to lots of AI's--air access/tourist taxes and extra costs are factors to consider.
Good luck--keep checking back here--you'll get lots of ideas.

I just googled words like "air industry discounts" and various forms of nonrev words/options. Your site came up (on the first page ).

Great site! I love to hear other nonrev stories! We have been to the Tamarjin in Aruba. Loved it! But we bought tickets as it was our honeymoon. My husband's priority date is '97. Seems like there are so many with higher priority than us.

I am going to have my husband email interlinetravel.com tonight through his Delta email to get the password. Has anyone used them to book resorts?

we all have the same user/password!!
nonrev
interline

later you can have his ID faxed as you reserve rooms, AI's etc

the same applies to immediate family/pass riders--when my father-in-law wanted a cruise, I booked with interlinetravel.com
(division of dynamic travel which BTW has friends/family page/deals for everyone) and sent copy of my husband's ID to verify employment for the discount

We have them listed in our Services Directory under Dynamic Travel and Cruises. Looks like they have multiple websites. They've got a rating of just 2 with a possible of 1-5... looks like someone wasn't too impressed but they did not take the time to write a review. If you use them, please go back to the Services Directory and select "Reviews" then "Add a review". You can also rate them by clicking one of the bars, 1-5 next to "Rate Now".

To get to the Services Directory, select "Services" in the dark blue navigation bar at the top of any Community page.

You might also want to check my Dominican Republic article. I got a really good rate on a villa there.
