Was glad to get the hell out of there. So the timing got out of whack, and now the thunder storms in IAH are so bad, I cancelled my PNR for SAL and moved my vacation up another week because SAL aint gonna happen and planes flying in and out of IAH will be one big CLUSTER you know what. But I aint complaining. I'm thankful for that field trip. It was not just a job. IT WAS AN ADVENTURE!!!!!
Can you give me details on your dentist in SAL, 29 ? My dentist in UIO is not working out. I need a bridge and lower braces..

Field trips can be good or bad, but they're always an adventure! I just spent a month bouncing around Europe and the middle east, and it was one of my best trips ever!

That was actually my second run to AMA but its been about ten years or more since my last. This time I was there a bit longer, got to see a bit more. It takes about 1.5 hours to get there by jet from IAH, and if you were in the North East, you would be in Canada if you took off say from Washington DC. So this is a big state and AMA lays in the panhandle of Texas. I really didn't take a tour of the city, but I did get on I-40 saw the BIG TEXAN STEAK HOUSE, and passed that to my hotel. From hotel, I took a walk about .75 of a mile to a Golden Corral. It's always interesting to see other people from other cities. I would say that 80 percent of the folks I saw in there were Mexicans/or TexMex, and I saw a couple of eccentric looking cowboy types one guy must have weighed 500 pounds, about 6 ft 4 and had that famous Texan ten gallon hat. But. I don't mean to judge a city by going inside a Golden Corral, however, it was quite interesting.

Other industries there seem to be WINDMILLS, also PANTAX. They assemble, and disassemble nuclear war heads and perform maintenance on them. There is also Bell Helicopter plant there and they have an airplane paint shop run by Leading Edge Aviation Services (with other locations throughout the U.S.). Of course, hotels, restaurants and Amarillo Independent School District. Gets cold up in the panhandle in winter. They have an elevation of plus 3000 feet, in the High Plains, flat, and west of tornado alley.
