+1 for Perx and also DarGal.
VacationsToGo.com is a cruise travel site with interline rates (as well as discount rates for other groups, teachers, fire, police etc) and great service. Very easy to navigate.
Often times one of these sites will still have cabins available on a specific cruise when other sites have sold out their allotment, it pays to check them all.

I would second the recommendation for InterlineRates .com.They're a division of Cruise Vacations,Inc. based in Denver.CO. They are one of few Interline Cruise Sites that allow
you to see online, available Cabin Inventory and Interline Prices on most Cruise Ships so you can compare prices. You can also make your own booking online with immediate
confirmation from the Cruise Line. If you would prefer dealing with an Agent, I would highly recommend 'Linda Parker'(Linda@CruiseVacations.net)(800)298-8688 ext.26.
She's always taken very good care of us!!!

I LOVE Perx and swear by them. Contact Kira@Perx.com. She treats me and my friends and family like gold. I'm a finalist in a "World's Best Cruiser" contest (vote at
Vote Now for the World) and Kira has organized every cruise I've ever been on. Their twice-weekly emails are fun to read even if you AREN'T planning a trip; the website is very easy to navigate.

What is your interest? Mass cruise or specialty?

    We have never cruised before.
My wife does not like the idea.
I want to try it out.
I really like independent travel and doing my own thing so a cruise may not be good for me but I do want to experience it at least once.
I was think a cheap 3 day would be good to start out with but there are so many options out there that it is somewhat overwhelming.

    Thanks for the help!

east coast carib or west coast baja?
    just to try? hmmmm
do you want to stay on board and ignore the shore stuff (highly recommended for indy cruisers--all the tourists are on shore!)
ships are fun if you keep things in perspective

I'd probably go for Carib and stay on board the ship, unless there were something that I had to see.

My choice has been Dargal for many years, agent Jennifer Pitt is absolutely stellar!! (jpitt@dargal.com)...Now, if any of you are prior military (and I know lots of airline people are ex-military), check with USAA (yes, the bank!), they do have a travel desk and their cruise prices are awesome, plus they usually throw in some type of perk. This year, we booked our Holland America european cruise and they threw in a week's stay in a gorgeous resort in Cabo, complimentary! Can't beat that!
