S4 BOS to LHR

I'm planning to non rev on DL - BOS/LHR. Using S4 from FA "buddy" with 30 years @ DL. Traveling with 90 year old dad. I want to avoid terminal camping and other S4 horror stories by picking the best time to travel. First time using S4....am I nuts?

Looking at 5/27 #144 BOS LHR & back 6/1 #135 LHR BOS. How many options should I have for these flights? Will we be able to gate check luggage? Any other tips for using S4 pass? I know my friend's seniority will help but I'd like to increase my odds of getting on board (and up front?) any way possible.

Hotels all on points so very flexible.

you do realize it's a holiday weekend?? there is one blackout date--did you know that? (in case you don't make it, you;ll have to wait 2 days?)

Which day is blacked out? Thanks for the heads up. I am flexible that week so perhaps I can avoid it or go the next weekend. I will ask her for the non rev rules. I heard the flights look wide open now but I'm sure that means nothing. When do the non rev folks start showing up?

I spoke to my DL employee about my S4 to BOS LHR in May. She saw May 28 is black out date and was not aware of that. Thanks for bringing this to our attention...big help. My DL FA is not familiar with travel net and has not used it often. Her husband booked all travel including non rev. Since his death, she is learning the ropes. Not being able to access travel net is a disadvantage to flying S4. Is there a place where DL employees can get a tutorial on Travel Net? In the meantime, would you be willing to check some dates for me? I'm not sure that she is reading the loads right and I don't want to wait list for a flight with low odds. Thanks.
