I guess you want recommendations for carry-on? We always travel w/one 22" roller and a small backpack that can zip on/off front of main bag. I can fit my handbag into the pack prior to boarding. I have checked it on AF flts out of CDG. I also took it on board AF from DUB to CDG. Only once has an overseas carrier required me to ck the bag due to cabin rules on wt.
Our 22" is High Sierra Lite--love the new version which weighs less than 7 pounds. Ebags sells it for $113. (no zip on/off pack tho)

Yes, that's worth knowing. Not knowing CDG, do you see anything a hassle, or not worth doing, etc... in checking my bag?
I suspect that at CDG getting my bag, going through customs - then popping back up on ticketing level and doing it all again
at the AF counter, screening then to the gate.. Allow a lot of time between flights?
We followed transfer signs and didn't have to go out to AF tkt counter. It's been a while, so I can't vouch for "these days". Why not call AF here for information? They certainly have several desks airside. I wouldn't check a bag unless they require you to give it up. I would always allow 2+ hours, pending your seat and exit time off DL flt. Extra time to get a checked bag can make or break your time. DL arrives T2E and AF depart out of T2(add letter). Take a look at CDG diagrams online. I won't be passing thru until Sept. Maybe someone here has more up to date info.
