Airlines; not only Delta are doing their level best to confuse the boarding priority order even within their own code share partners.
Why it could not be simpler than for pleasure board with your senority date - for business board with the priority need: i.e. deadheading crews
to operate a flight - maintenance to fix equipment before board meetings and sales parties. (??)

There are 46 standby codes (revenue and non-rev) it is no wonder it is a can of worms - and even more so for our revenue customers !

This is TOTAL horse hockey! 15 codes are nonrev and 31 are rev. Revs are governed by the codes and GAs. Many are HKM + degrees, also SDSB, partner revs and so on.

I am not a retiree spouse yet but it's coming soon. I'll won't be whinging about the fact that I've been happily given great status and incredible flight privs. My husband will have been flying for Delta for 30 yrs when his chosen date comes up. He'll be retiring @ 60, by choice, and I am very supportive. Yes, my priority will go down and that's just the way it is. I will have plenty of time to wait patiently for the next flight and IF I want to fly "up front" then that will be my choice to wait, too. If I want to fly as available coach, my choice, as well.
He EARNED his priority and if DL has parameters for nonreving, that's the way it is.
