    FWIW, and this is not first hand knowledge, I've heard that many folks have had unpleasant experiences in Thailand lately.

    I haven't had a chance to verify with a reliable source , which I'll do next month when I'm back in MSY and can speak with someone whose brother lives there. My acquaintance is a DL employee who visits there every year

    I was there in January with no issues, except trying to find a taxi driver who would use the meter and being kicked out of a tuk-tuk in the middle of nowhere because he finally realized the price he agreed with was not enough.

    What kind of issues are people having?
