Default DL Sky Clubs Off Limit to Non-revs??

Has anyone heard anything about a change in assessing the Sky Clubs? A friend tells me me that she and a friend were recently denied entry to the ORD club even though she has an AX Express card - wondering if this has anything to do with the move to T5?

    Thanks

Yep, as of February 2, no more access for nonrev tickets.

Soooo, her AX (annual fee) card no longer gets her and here fellow DL retirees into the Sky Clubs.
Many retirees ( all airlines) keep the AX card so they can enjoy the lounges as they travel the world.
Did DL happen to mention why they changed their policy???????

They can enter with a paid ticket.
The company said it is due to overcrowding.
When I was at JFK last week, the line was way out the door to enter the club.
I used the Air India club at JFK which was surprisingly nice.

This is True. We're so full that Amex bought 12% of the company. D Concourse in ATL is building one bigger than B Concourse - the busiest concourse in the world.

Here is the alternative : Priority Pass | Airport Lounge Access All employees are buying in. They have many locations including LAX, JFK and ATL F Concourse.

"Overcrowding", Well I have my own theory, I attribute crowded lounges to TSA telling everyone to be at the airport 2/3 hours before flights and "mobile check-in". BTW, I also maintain that "mobile check-in" has changed non-revving.
CHECK-IN, now there's an airline term which meaning has changed.
CHECK-IN used to mean I'm actually at the the airport ready to roll.
CHECK-IN today has a much broader meaning - anything from
    A. I'm on the beach now, but I fully intend to be on that flight tomorrow (24 hours)
    B. I'm stuck in traffic but I think I can make it within the next hour or so (90 minutes)
    C. I just cleared screening and I'm running. (45 minutes)

Guess which one had these non-revs heading for the lounge?

I have priority pass thru the chase sapphire reserve card. Makes the long layovers in CLT go by quicker… unless I’m having a bojangles or chick fil a craving! At jfk T8, the priority pass gets you a $28 credit per person at Bobby Vans. Many airline lounges at Jfk T1 include LH, KE, TK and AF are included in priority pass. Am very tempted to buy a zed ticket and try out the lounges. Besides, I don’t think I would’ve made that Lufthansa flight anyway 😎

Bojangles, I've heard it's great chicken, but have yet to taste it myself - like In-N-Out burgers, it's regional, next time I'm east of the Mississippi, I'll give it a try.
Hmm, "... a $28 credit per person at" Bobby Vans." This makes me think Bobby Vans is very very expensive.
My favorite place for steak in NYC. "Gallagher's", please tell me they're back and have a spot at JFK. (wishful thinking).
