Are you checking baggage? It has been my experience that it takes a *very* long time to pick up your bags at baggage claim in CDG. Back in November, I wated an hour for my baggage and barely (and I do mean BARELY) made my flight. I arrived the dungeon at 0900 for a 1020 departure, and you must be there at least an hour early.

You must actually clear passport control (immigration) and customs in CDG.

Also, keep in mind you may have to change terminals. F to C, as on my last trip, is a pretty long hike.

I've been through CDG numerous times, but I have not been to Mumbai personally as I understand those flights are difficult to non-rev on.

If you are traveling on a US passport, you do not need a transit visa. Have a backup plan to stay in Paris for a day and head into town.
