I wonder if anyone has any information on how this might work. My husband and I are going on DL118 (non rev S3b) from new york to Paris then DL118 to mumbai. I understand that we have to get off of the plane, get our luggage, go back through customs, and then get back in line to get back on the plane.

Is this as complicated as it sounds, we have 2 hours from flight arrival to departure, do we need a transit visa? can we get one at the airport? any ideas of the flight loads 3/16-3/20? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you checking baggage? It has been my experience that it takes a *very* long time to pick up your bags at baggage claim in CDG. Back in November, I wated an hour for my baggage and barely (and I do mean BARELY) made my flight. I arrived the dungeon at 0900 for a 1020 departure, and you must be there at least an hour early.

You must actually clear passport control (immigration) and customs in CDG.

Also, keep in mind you may have to change terminals. F to C, as on my last trip, is a pretty long hike.

I've been through CDG numerous times, but I have not been to Mumbai personally as I understand those flights are difficult to non-rev on.

If you are traveling on a US passport, you do not need a transit visa. Have a backup plan to stay in Paris for a day and head into town.

yes, we will have baggage. I thought it might be dicy getting through there. I think that there is a flight that gives us 4 hours to make the connections. There is only one flight to Mumbai and we are leaving 4 days earlier than we need to so hopefully that will work, I did notice that there is another option to go through Milan and then get a code share, whereas the Paris/mumbai is Delta all the way. Thanks for the heads up on the transit visa.

If you are a US citizen, you don't need a transit visa--didn't know your nationality, just wanted to make sure you understood.

    Have a great trip!
