Hoping to return from the Caribbean on 31st Dec (yes I'll be entering the new year in the skies, anyone else ever did that?). was wondering what the loads or prognosis for the 31st look like. I see that most reservation classes are still bookable, but if anyone can give more precise numbers, it will be greatly appreciated.

    seasons greetings to all

The BA2156 TAB-LGW looks OK with 30+ empty and both the BA 2152 and 2154 BGI-LGW have 40+ on each flight. The are 20 listed for the 2156 so that looks OK at this stage however BGI will always be the better bet as its got 2 flights with seats.

Thanx Britski. Just sorting out on which island I'll spend the last days of my holiday. Would really have preferred Tobago. But to be on the safe side. I was veering towards Barbados because of the two BA flights, VS and BW. Do you know if BA upgrades. Merely out of courtesy to fellow ID travellers, not even One World at that. We don't have an agreement with them to purchase ID biz tickets. Asking for an upg is something that I don't ever do. But if offered, certainly won't refuse.

Another question I forgot to add. What is BA's dress code like. I've non-reved only on their european flights, but never on an inter -continental. A more formal blazer and slacks, or would the classic "business casual" be appropriate?

In general BA will upgrade to Traveller Plus and Club ( generally not First ) to get staff away but they will not upgrade just because seats exist in that cabin although holiday spirits can often create more goodwill in respect of upgrades. As far as dress is concerned business casual is OK althought personally I always travel in at least jacket and tie just in case an upgrade is a possibility, and often appearance can swing it. I normally carry a single colour T-shirt and jogging bottoms in my hand luggage to change into on board if I do end up having to sleep in a smaller Economy seat.

So Frapos what happened; noisemakers, hats, a countdown, champagne all around, "happy new year" from the captain, you slept through the whole thing...WHAT?
Oh, and did your jacket and tie get you an upgrade? Don't leave us hanging.

For starters, I didn't return with BA. The pleasures of non-reving, not fixed to reservations or a schedule. I made a spontaneous trip over to Trinidad to visit friends once I was assured that BW would accept the ticket and the flight had room. So I flew out from POS to LHR. Rather low key celebrations on board. Champagne was distributed (in plastic cups)at some point over the Atlantic shortly after the captain made an announcement and the purser put on a video of fireworks (can't have the real thing now can we!)With a little more than 100 pax on board the mood was muted fun. Lasted all of ten minutes then back to sleep. In spite of their problems, I still like flying BW.And no, no upgrade, nor jacket and tie. My usual "business casual" uniform. But with the light load, almost everyone had their own row. And alcoholic drinks were on the house for the entire flight. Normally it you have to pay
