I'm the parent of a SWA employee planning to fly from LAX to CDG in late September using Air Tahiti.

Has anyone made this trip with this airline and have any suggestions or opinions to share?

Would appreciate any advise.

Thanks,
Judy

I've been told that this is one of the better flights for getting to Paris, often a few seats left. I'm holding out for them to get ZED.

I guess I wouldn't put this info at a much higher level than "rumor." Sorry I don't have more specific info.

DashTrash,

Just recently I accessed FlyZed and TN *is* listed there. I've never used FlyZed before ... But I noticed in the "Chance" column, there are very few "happy" faces, even when I try a date several months in advance (Feb of 2007). Now I'm wondering how the chances of getting a seat are rated? Perhaps by past experience?

Thanks for any input.

i wouldn't count too much on the happy faces on flyzed. i tried myself with lh/os flights-even if the flight is quite empty there are no happy faces. i prefer http://flyaow.com/classtandt.htm
it gives a better view on the availabilites

Thanks, Osflyer. I have seen that site before but being a non-airline employee (a parent), I have trouble figuring out what those codes mean. For my specific flight, it says:

P4 A0 J4 D0 Z0 I0 Y4 M4 K4 H4 T4 L0 W0 V4 Q0

All those zeros make me nervous, but I don't actually know how Air Tahiti codes their passenger loads.

If anyone does know, I would sure appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Judy

Those are fare classes and it basically means fares that are available for sale. We don't know how many tickets are avail for sale in each class "only those in sales know"

Hi Z,

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask where you flew out of, and what was the destination?

Although it looks like we might be using the back-up Lufthansa tix instead of Air Tahiti, it is still good to know for future reference.
