Hey, Gigi--what's the scoop on your seat status? Hope it's shaking down to good numbers. I've been watching JFK/IST to go with my husband for w few days (my first time there) and it looks ok one day and impossible the next. So, I wait...and watch![/b]
It was a wonderful trip. I have been home for 3 days now and I am still on cloud 9 that I had the opportunity to go to Rome and Pompei.

The way to FCO the agent was kind to give us both 2 seats, so we had a row of 4 seats to ourselves. The way back we both had middle seats, and I was just as happy

Just go mrs. You will drive yourself crazy watching the numbers ( I finally stopped looking at the seats about 5 days before my trip because it was driving me crazy!). I do highly recommend going on Tuesdays. If you are going to do it, do it before the 1st week of November or wait until late January or February. I am a gate/counter agent and have a pretty good sense of the number game.

There are never any guarantees mrs. I will say I gave myself a four day bumper to get back and a reserve of $700. I didn't use the bumper days nor the reserve money. I did leave on Tuesdays both ways, knowing full well that Mondays are busy days and that oversells occur on those days. On my return there were about 20 non-revs trying to get on the flight. We were pretty lowdown on the list being "other airline". We got on, I do know there were a couple of people left behind. I was also aware that the next day there were over 65 seats available, so I really didn't worry too much.

I do always bring chocolates for the agents. I never give it beforehand because I don't want it looked at as a bribe or anything similiar. I always use it as a thank you for being a gate/counter agent. Their job can be thankless at times. People seem to forget that it takes more than a couple of pilots and FA's to get that plane off the ground. I give something to the agent that checks my bags and the gate agent. I know when a nonrev gives me something, even a tiny little miniature chocolate it makes me happy to think they thought of me

I miss my Italian Cappuccino. What is that stuff that Starbucks sells? It is certainly not Cappuccino!
