My wife, teenage daughter and I are planning to visit Paris in December for a few days. Has anyone been to Paris lately that can provide some hotel or general information? We have not been to Paris in a while so we are looking for a new ideas as to where :D to stay and restaurants to visit. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a good site for hotels:
http://www.eurocheapo.com/paris/
The best districts are (in order) 4, 3, 5, 6, 2, 1, 9.
The weather might be nasty and cold but you will a good time.

try www.vacationinparis.com . We really liked dealing with them and had no trouble at all with our apartment.

The apartment info would be greatly appreciated. We will be there only three nights and I know most apt properties require a minimum number of nights or they charge an additional fee for less than 5 nights. Nonetheless, we would appreciate any info. WE have not been to Paris in a while and have stayed in hotels there before. An apt sounds like a great idea. Thanks!

The place we stayed was strictly for 2 people. Very tiny but great fun.

Here's one site I've used: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/europ...de-france/paris

Also: http://paris.en.craigslist.org/vac/

PM me if you want any more details.

"best"? for what may I ask? I have been to Paris many times and have stayed in 4e, 3e and 6e. On later visits I discovered the 7e to be safe and quiet due to the large number of residents who call this arrondissement their home.

Turn a corner on a small street in the 7e at night and maybe you will find a small section of the base of the Eiffel Tower all lit up. It's an impressive sight. Looking for a supermarket for a bottle of wine? Looking for small neighborhood restaurants with good food and reasonable prices? Looking for the finest chocolate shop in all of Paris? Looking for a daily (except Sunday) outdoor food market (rue Cler)? Looking for a great boulangerie? It's in the 7e/metro: La Tour-Maubourg.

We were there about a year ago and stayed at an Ibis up near Place de Clichy. It was only 59 Euro a night.
Also, try Alice Pizza. It is located at 57 Rue des Dames. You can get there off of the Rome Metro stop.
Great pizza!
