Flying to Amsterdam this weekend. Any suggestions on low cost (but decent) lodging?
Plan to go to: Underground Dungeon, Anne Franks House, Van Gough Museum, Canal tour, and, of course, walk around the red light district before it goes away.
Any other suggestions? Anyone up for a trip?

once in the city--our hotel has changed names sicne
Try NH hotels and ask for industry rate--they are typically very airline friendly
Alexander or Europa 92
The Mercure/Novotel group has discounts for us--ck your airline codes (Accor)
They aslo own Ibis/Formulae
We stayed Ibis nr airport once and it was fine, but you have train in/out--for multiple days it's not tos hot
I looked at availability and its a high occupancy wkend--you may have to go to tourist agency for rooms

Canal cruise? I wonder if that is the same route we took going to ANTWERP BELGIUM. You come in via the Atlantic Ocean and it takes 8 hours going through a series of locks. We went by Rotterdam too.
we just took a 3 hour tour (a three hour tour...)
