Default DFW to Paris on 5/24 to 6/7 on Delta

Hello all! I am flying on delta with S2. I also am flying with a friend on a buddyfare. We wanted to fly together and also the chance of getting bumped up to business seems promising, even if it is business on delta. I did not want to pay for a ticket. We are going to try to fly from DFW to CDG, on May 25 and come back June 7th. So the buddy fare is about 500 bucks and I know we can fly on US Airways for about 750 (but then I would have to pay).

I am a little concerned since my friend is flying S4, bottom of the rung. I know the load factors look promising but I feel a little uncomfortable about getting stuck in a airport. He thinks that we have a good chance of not getting stuck since the availability right now on the flights is in the hundreds of seats in coach, such as one out of MSP that only has about 30 people on board.

Is there any insider advice? I know that we are flying at a supposedly good time. Maybe is there another way to get him on at a higher priority. He would be willing to pay more. What is the likelihood of biz class?

So, what should I do? Buy a ticket or stick with nonrev?

    I would stick with nonrev
I would however, be prepared to leave the day before for CVG or ATL or MSP due to connection issues. I think if you prepare that way, you have a better chance getting him (?) to the gateway with you--and beyond
Hotels are really cheap--you can get Comfort Inn DL rate under $60 ATL and prob similar at CVG and MSP (use your sparkfly code) and you have peace of mind day prior.
I can almost guarantee your biggest rpoblem will be domestic connections for your S4

So what airport do you think is best to fly out of? I know there are more flight options out of ATL but I also heard on another forum that those have a lot of nonrevers trying to get out. If you were flying with us, what airport would you fly from?

You think that the domestic will be a problem? I was more concerned about the international one. If we have to change the dates is there not a charge? Someone told me a ten dollar charge.

    no date change--$25 for destination
can;'t make any judgments until next month anyway
your biggest issue is domestic--ask me how many times I've tried to get to NY or ATL to connect INT to fly w/my husband
not rpetty--make your plans based on starting out clean gateway--no cnx that day

I would. Check options and make Plan A Plan B and Plan C etc.
BTW--where else are you traveling? You may want to include another city in your planning, in case of French strike. (they do happen--sometimes just a day to mess things up)
