    Default Listing on Alitalia

Does anyone know if I need to list for intra-european flights on Alitalia. I have been trying to call Alitalia listing number, but it's always busy.

It looks like that you must call +39 06 65859864 M/F 9a 8p local time (Italy) Sat/Sun 9a/5p I read that If you are not listed, check-in and boarding will not be permitted even if seats are available.

Thanks Zedman, I keep calling that number and if and when they answer I get disconnected. It has been very frustrating, I wish they had a better system!!

Does anyone have any recent experience with listing on Alitalia? According to our zed info, it is necessary to call the number in Italy to list during specific hours. Another older post mentioned they got the run around (calling 48 hours prior then told to call 24 hours prior, etc). Does anyone know if the US reservations number will do a zed listing? Although it states a listing must be made, in reality on other airlines sometimes this is not always strictly enforced. Looking to do a back up domestic zed listing in case a direct flight on AA to MXP doesn't work out and we have to go to FCO instead. Would like to save the hassle of getting to the train station and taking the train if possible and of course load permitting. Thanks!

    Default Getting through to Alitalia

I know this is probably after the fact for this thread, and it's not nonrev, but I did have one experience with them in March of 2011: we flew them revenue MRS-FCO-AMM (Jordan), and for the return trip from Jordan they emailed me a day before saying the flight was cancelled, and they would let me know about what return flights we would get. They proposed a return several days later, which we nixed right away; they said they'd get back to us and never did. So I took matters into my hands, tried calling the local (Jordan) AZ office, no avail; tried calling them in Italy, got the run-around, called them in the US and the guy staid with me till he had confirmed flights on AF for about the same dates & hours we had planned to travel. (Thanks goodnes for Skype, btw!)

Just noticed that Alitalia now has their own non-rev listing site. Not sure how accurate the smiley face load info is but it beats the previous system of having to call AZ in Italy to create a listing.
