Danny--you have many options out of AMS on DL (15 peak season). August could be IFFY; flexibility is key. You can always shoot for getting to CDG and flying to CVG or other gateway--even beyond like west coast if necessary. Also exiting EU via BRU is likely option. Do the moving map thing on travelnet. Start w/AMS, then branch out to accessible cities like CDG or BRU etc. I do a little chart or print out best SB itinerary, then scribble down options on back. ezeds are your best friend in Europe--KL, AF are on myIDtravel link.
