Default Strike Hurting LH...NONREVS STAY AWAY - UPDATED CHANGE

With little hope of agreement between the parties, the longest strike in the history of the German airline Lufthansa has entered its sixth day with the cancelation of thousands of flights affecting more than 200,000 passengers on Thursday and Friday this week.
The running tally to date, according to the airline: 3,700 flights and 443,000 passengers scrambling for alternate transportation — not counting those to be hit on Friday, when this round of the industrial action is scheduled to end at midnight.
“We regret that we must publish a special flight schedule for 12 and 13.11.2015 as well,” Lufthansa updated on its website. “ Out of a total of 3,000 planned Lufthansa Group connections, 933 flights have to be cancelled on 12.11.2015. Approximately 107,000 guests are affected by the flight cancellations. Approximately 110,910 passengers are affected by 941 flight cancellations on 13.11.2015.”
As the airline promised a return to normal flight schedules on Saturday, the striking Independent Flight Attendants’ Organization, UFO, said it would present a new settlement proposal on Friday. At the same time, it plans to close the week-long strike with a demonstration at Frankfurt Airport on Friday, calling on all Luthansa Group employees to join in starting around noon.

Lufthansa had filed injunctions on Tuesday in an attempt to force an end to the strike before Friday. But it failed when labour courts refused to order the cabin crew union members back to work.

    12:27 EST UPDATE

After the end of the longest strike in the company’s history, Lufthansa will already return to almost normal operations on Saturday and will offer its customers the usual service as soon as possible.
All scheduled long-haul connections will be able to operate on the day.
Furthermore the long-haul connections from Frankfurt to Hong Kong, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, which were scheduled to take off on late Friday evening, will be delayed to Saturday morning.
Thus, a cancellation of these connections can be avoided.
Lufthansa will also return to almost normal operations on short- and medium-haul flights on Saturday.
Due to operational reasons, there can be occasional flight cancellations, if the aircraft or crews are not yet at the site of operation.
In a statement the airline said: “Lufthansa would like to sincerely apologise again to all customers who have been affected by the strike of the Independent Flight Attendant’s Union during the past days.
“The company has done its utmost to keep the effects on their customers as low as possible.”
Altogether the airline was forced to cancel approximately 4,700 flights during seven strike days.
Affected by these cancellations were approximately 550,000 passengers.
