I don't find the Italian tax any sort of burden to the tourism industry. They imposed a fee pp for hotel occupancy and it hasn't effected tourism.
Norway is another matter--it's triple Italy's tax. They hardly have the large tourism mkt that Italy does but Norway has massive taxes on everything, so what's new?
Both countries will be charging tourists and their own citizens. Hey, what's another tax in the grand scheme of their financial needs/shortcomings? Amsterdam rolled their back because it was massive and hurt all air travel. Spain is a mess, but they still have low taxes. Germany imposes high taxes, too. But maybe that's for Angela to handle their expenses for bailing out all the others? Don't get me started on LHR and UK taxes!
"New" taxes--Again--so what's really new? (do I hear an echo?)
Good post, dd. Thanks.
