    Default LH424 MUC-BOS a/c type changes

    Hi all,

Looking to try and fly the A346 type before LH retires (again). I have an itin booked positioning from KOI-MUC on revenue flights and a revenue flight booked from BOS back to UK but I noticed in the last few days that LH have started using A359 on this route. Is this temporary or likely to be permanent? Worst case is I'll try and get on the JFK flight if that is A346 and position to Boston for my homeward flight but can anyone shed any light on the A349/A359 schedule? Thanks for any info.

I wondered how you were progressing with your quest. I must tell you your airplane "swap" question is a first for the Forum, our members are more interested in just making the flight Since you have no doubt checked out all the Airbus enthusiast sites, I'll contact some LH members and see if they can nail anything down. Good luck

Hi. Thank you I appreciate if you can find any info. I actually did my non-rev round the world last month. The A346 was part of the itin but an equipment downgrade in SYD meant I couldn’t make it to USA from there and had to fly back to UK from Canada so I am trying again for a quick trip to the USA and back to fly the type.

Unfortunately our LH members were unable to help. Now that I see you've been disappointed, I'll just add keep plans flexible and good luck.

Thanks for asking and trying to get the info. My backup is to fly to JFK as they seem to constantly have the A346 on that route and just position to Boston for my flights home.

Go JFK. I would play that hand. You can also go to the Lufthansa site to see what aircraft type is flying on that day.

Hello, thank you. I did know you can check a/c type on LH website it’s was more that they publish A346 then seem to do a lot of equipment changes within 24-48 hours. Luckily JFK goes before BOS so I plan to arrive at MUC early enough so that is BOS flight is not A346 I’ll hop on JFK if there is a seat spare.

Were you able to get a ride on the 346 yet?

I am looking to do the same thing.
It seems that the entire 346 fleet will be in use this summer.
    I might try in April.

I was set to ride on a VS 346 in March 2020, but we all know what happened next.

Hello. I did indeed manage my trip. I positioned to MUC from KOI and had a night in Munich before my flight. I flew LH424 and got my A346! The flight was very quiet, and I was humbled to be upgraded to Business Class by the Chief Purser. I think the cookies, chocolates and candy I brought for the crew helped but the CP could tell I was an Avgeek and as soon as I mentioned why I was on the flight to try the type and use the downstairs toilet! My first time in Business and it was a great flight.

Persistence and Excel, the key to success. Thanks for the update and btw, my friends were able to catch a ride on the Millennium Falcon.
