The non rev travel season is in full swing. We are off to a new city excited stop by the car rental counter & away we go. Most of the time our common sense left at home.
Carjackings can occur at anytime anyplace, but most often at stop lights, parking lots or off ramps. Carjackers are looking for easy victims. The ones who are not paying attention. The ones whos windows are rolled down & doors unlocked. Get the picture ?
It is always safer to drive in the inside lane & leave an avenue of escape. Now suppose the worse thing happens, even after your best efforts you are still carjacked. You have one option left:
    FORCE A CRASH
That's right. You can either take your chance now(the best chance you will have) or later at the second crime scene which will be much worse.
I hope none of you are ever in this kind of situation, but with a little planning if it happens you can save your life.
Any questions please ask or if you have escaped a carjacking or other violent crime, I would love to hear your story.

Any suggestions on what to do when caught in a slow speed pursuit?

I guess that is a Calif thing, ha ha. Not trying to give the short answer, but I would just say to hang back & be safe. If you can exit and go another way I would do that. Bottom line is do whatever is safe at the time.

Just to add a little to my carjacking article: Approx 3AM Mon morn. here in CLT a carjacking attempt was made. A male jumped into a car with a gun & attempted to carjack the driver. Instead the driver drove the car into a wall. The carjacker died at the scene. Turns out he was 16 Years of age. Really sad, but he grew up mighty quick when he decided to put a gun to some ones head.
The driver was injured, but God forbid if this happens to you this is your best chance force a crash. Take your chance now or later at the second crime where you are isolated and at his mercey.
