Thread: Looking for other people that "pick up and go".

    Not really sure what I would call it. I'm a young professional with a parent that works for the airlines. There are many times that a weekend will draw near and I would kill to hop on a plane and check out a new city.
    I am sure there are others out there like that.
    Just wondering if there is a website that anyone knows of that would cater to these people. You could have a profile so people can get a better idea about you.. and then possibly meet up for some city exploration.
    Does this exist?

    Gee, it seems as though I've read about such services but I have no idea where and don't really have any idea where to start looking.

    Anyway, 2 ideas:

    1) Depending on where your traveling you might try a Hostel. Some are nice and some are nasty! But they always lend themselves to meeting others and establishing friendships.

    2) Try a site that Chris recommends by a carreer flight attendant.

    If you find anything, post back in this thread please. I am certainly interested in doing stuff like that. Just to go places on a whim, ya know..like, for instance, if I happen to have a hankerin' for fresh Maine lobster, just go get some, but also just to check out places I have never been.
