Is there an FAQ area or something like that where things like this are assembled? It would be fantastic to have FAQ with links or at least employee comments about dress codes at various airlines, since it seems like they vary a bit.

Hi, I have traveled on United from the East Coast to SFO and Lax on numerous occaisions. When I called to list, I always ask for first class. The last time that I traveled on them was 2004, but I have always gotten first class. I have found that they are one of the few airlines that will allow other airline employees to list and to fly first class. This may have changed, but I always make sure that I am dressed in business attire and my husband always wear a nice sports jacket just in case we are able to get first class.

    Hope this is helpful

United customer service reps are probably the most liberal in the biz. If there is a first class seat regardless of which carrier you work, UA employees will give it to you. They really could care less. American on the other hand is by far the worst. They will leave the first class cabin wide open and not put non-revs up there. Its crazy. Delta is middle of the road. USAir is difficult as well.

Heh, well, true...If someone travels on a ZED or ID90, AA policy is that they are allowed to travel in Y (economy) only... I have heard of cases when the rule is waived on a rare occasion. I know, I'd have to clear that with a CSM before an upgrade is issued.

I never hasd a ZED traveler come up and ask for F, although I havent been in the business that long
