Did anybody else notice the alarming number of pax that hog up our beautiful planes?

I just don't understand how people can have no respect.

I totally understand that accidents happen and things spill, etc. What I don't understand is the careless attitude of pax as they turn a clean aircraft into a dirty one. What to do with this McDonalds bag? Stuff it between the seat and wall. Where should I put my used up chewing tobacco(which, btw, is illegal on our flights), aww, just spit it into the seat pocket. Should I actually put my gum in my napkin? NO, put it in the safety card, or just throw it in the pocket so it ruins everything in there, or on the floor, then the plane can smell minty fresh for weeks, or mash it into the almost brand new seat.

I don't understand how these interiors last more than a couple weeks.

I'm not complaining about having to clean planes, they'll always need a bath. I just can't grasp how most planes end up looking like there was a natural disaster mid-flight. The FA comes around at least 45 times in flight, but seriously, at least 3-4 times, it's not difficult to hand your trash to him/her, but it's apparently much easier just to throw it on the floor. Most people want to be in a nice seat, so think of others, when you leave that nice seat, leave it nice, don't ruin it just because you can.

Anybody else care to rant?

Oh, Yeah..........among the things that have been found in the seatpockets are USED sanitary napkins, mens underwear, etc.

Always used to hate trying to remove a chaw from those small ashtrays in the armrests on 727's. People can really be basically pigs when they don't have to clean up their own mess.

Got to say I saw this coming. Once the airlines started selling boxed lunches, it was only a matter of time; now instead of cigarette smoke, there's the aroma of yesterday's leftovers.

My rant--

Mr worst smelling experince wasn't food. It was Vicks VapoRub . The woman sitting next to me was lathered in it, said it helped her breathe...... I 've got to say, it didn't do a thing for me.

I'm sure passengers do some nasty stuff.

This does remind me of my least favorite aspect of flying coach. After eating with the tray table down, it usually seems like forever before the FAs come to collect the trash. I've been very uncomfortable waiting for this to get up and go to the restroom.

Just a thought, but may be a good idea for this "pig" delima as well. Ya know there's just really no place for trash. It's no wonder things get stuffed everywhere. What if the FAs when they distributed meals, snacks or beverages gave one small plastic trash bag per aisle seat and there was a little hook on or close to the aisle to hang it on. Passengers could put there trash in the bag, hang it on the hook and have their area clean to let them be free to move about. FAs could then move through the cabin to collect the trash much more efficiently by not having to gather each individual piece. It might also result in an easier plane clean-up.

Whadaya think?

I think there is a place for trash and it's in the FA bag if they'd hit the aisles almost immediately after serving the "pig pax". I realize the system keeps pax in their seats, captive as it were and there is NO PLACE for garbagio--except at the seat.
We just flew too many legs to count this last week--and it's the same on all airlines--make us sit until we can't wait any longer---then a wild rush for the lavs creates another problem--what to do with the tray and trash?? Stuff it??!!
Logic and common sense/sensitivity on all levels would help, but they can be rare commodities...
There is NO excuse for bad manners anywhere--my husband and I always clean our room before check-out--a flight seat should be NO different. So sad...
