I don&#39;t think you mean "one checked bag" as this is an international flight and even according to Delta.com this morning, all international flights allow 2 free checked bags of 50lbs each (except to Brazil where the weight is 70lbs for each of the 2 bags). I have flown to South Africa from the US several times and have never heard of this one-bag rule.
