Hey there, quick question:
I have a back up on UA for an ICN-NRT-HNL route. When I call the UAL-LIST line (wow they're really nice! ),
they say that coach class is full, but first class and business is open.

Do you leave with your planes open in first and business class if you don't sell them?
Also, with my oridinary zed ticket I have (UA ICN-NRT, NRT-HNL), am I eligible for an upgrade with/or without a fee at all?
or is there something like purchasing a zed ticket for F class?

Thanks for your help,

Also, if any one would be kind enough, to let me know it looks for ICN-NRT-HNL on 5MAR09.

Mahalo!

I'm not sure if you've already travelled or not ........
UA do not have a ZED agreement with HA. Quite possibly you may have one with us, in which case it is not bilateral.

If you have paid a Y class fare, you are permitted to travel in Y class. If it's a 3 cabin aircraft, there is a possibility you could be accomodated in Business class.
However, some points to remember :
On paper, you are entitled to your ticketed class
UA onload standby's at the gate and our own employees are boarded strictly by seniority - i.e date of joining. This is followed by Alliance carriers and lastly, all other
interliners.
If seats are full in Y class, according to our agreement and the fare you have paid, you may be told to return another day or if the gate agent is feeling
particularly generous, onload you into a higher class. Since you work for HA, I would guess that it all depends on what experience the gate agent has had
themselves with HA on how you will be accomodated !

I really hope people dont denied boarding to Interliners because coach is full, and having Bussiness and First open! I could never do that.

Hi.. I will tell you that in the stations I've worked at before we would, as a rule NOT upgrade the OAL Non-Rev holing Y class into C or (worse yet) into F.. We would however find a UAL non-accompanied spouse (normally only permitted into C) or a unaccompanied companion (again, only entitled to C) and move them into F, to make space.. Unless we were risking a delay (we were never permitted to knowlingly take a delay for non-revs) we'd always do some "controller" upgrades at the gate to ensure everyone got on... This was assuming the meal count and such forth permitted it.. sometimes we only catered F to the revenue ticketed level..

Curious ... we've been instructed to call 800-UNITED1 to flight list ZED travel, I'd been told that UAL-LIST is for UA on UA. Which number should OAL call to flight list on UAL?

I've always called UAL-LIST. haha

When they answer the phone, I just say I have a zed ticket for standby with HA
and am looking for checking some loads. They've never told me to call somewhere else!

I guess that all depends on whether your call is picked up in the U.S., India, Philipines or China !
PM me when you require a load/listing - I'll take care of ya' .......

UA gate Agents usually never leave anyone behind, unless of course it would put an on time dept. in danger. The Folks especially at All the Mega hubs do an amazing job filling up every seat, narrow or wide body aircraft, and getting the on-time pushback. Sometimes a stressful process, especially if understaffed but it seems to be an unwritten commitment to not leave any Non revs at the gate if there are seats on the plane.
