Palms, three airports you never rent a car at are PHX, DFW and BOS. BOS has excessive taxes and fees, they even hit you up for a $10 a day Convention Center surcharge. AHHH!
To see just how much you pay in fees go to Travelocity /car rental Travelocity : Rental Cars, Cheap Car Rental and Discount Rent a Car
On a 2 day rental out of BOS I got a rate of $36, the taxes and fees amounted to $40.44- now that is ridiculous.

I use Enterprise, Dollar or Alamo. Alamo gives AA 25% off, so look into that, maybe CO has a similar deal.

BOS now has a new $6 fee per rental to pay for a new car rental facility to be built in the near future

    Default yup, sounds like boston

Sounds like bean town. Smells like bean town. Yup, its a rip off indeed.

But what good is it to rent a car away from the airport? Do you know how much it cost to take a cab to the place to rent the car? Then same when you drop off the car? There's your 40-45 bucks savings. This way, at the airport, you just take the car there and go home.

Yeah I'll admit it's sometimes inconvenient, but I really resent those hidden rental car fees they tact on to the bill. I usually just take the shuttle from the airport and then either get a cab or have Enterprise pick me up. It's the principle.....ok, it's the money too.
