Cancun hotel recommendations?
Hi everyone! I'm planning on visiting Cancun from Aug 12th to Aug 15th and was wondering if you knew any good places to stay near or on the beach. I'm going there to celebrate my 30th birthday and traveling on a budget.

maybe check in Playa Del Carmen first. The budget places on the hotel zone are usually on the lagoon. Tripadvisor.com might help but that bunch is really focused on the BIG resorts and what to pack, what to drink.....
Check interlinetravel.com for all-inclusives Riveiera Maya and/or Cancun (unless you want to club hop?) Bet you can get a cheap deal now and not pay the fee (like some other agencies) ARe you traveling alone? that might mean the all-inclusives are a poor idea (sorry--just considered that)
You'll need to use collectivos for your budget, but thats likely not a problem for you, coming from Lima?

Thanks a lot mrs767er! I'll check those sites out and let you know how plans evolve... I'm traveling by myself so I think you may be right about the all inclusives. About the colectivos, you're completely right, growing up in Lima certainly has its benefits and being used to that kind of transportation is one of them. Thanks for the tips!
