    Default Tired and Battered Center

I was looking at the Sams Club web site, when I came upon services section, and saw a "Tired and Battered Center", however, I couldn't believe my eyes. When I looked again, it read TIRE AND BATTERY center. Wow. I got a little freeked on this one. I thought for a moment, there was a center for battered wives, that were members of Sams Club. Ha ha ha...that was wierd.

Aside an occassional beer or wine, I hardly drink. It may be more like my eyes are playing a few tricks on me in my day in age, however, still can see pretty good, no glasses in use yet. I did just now have a cold beer along with a stogie in a glass out in this cool weather, that came our way yesterday. From mid 80's down to the 40's all day long. Windy, rainy this morning but the drier air pushed on through. I love it cool here. That's when I do some good walking and soaking up the cool air after this long hot summer and somewhat warm fall. I do see an 80 degree day in the forecast later in the week. So the cool air comes and retreats here in Texas then comes again with a vengence.

    Houston weather right now

    Wind: North 4 mph

    Pressure: 30.29 in.
    Wind chill: 38°

I can't remember half the dumb things I've misread but one was misconstruing the term "metal hair bands".
I honestly thought they mean those stupid tiara type headbands w/metal teeth--girls wear them to hold all their hair/bangs off the forehead...I had no clue the article would be about bands like Flock of Seagulls, Motley Crue, Poison etc.

I was once at the Metrodome for a Twins game, and saw brats (bratwurst) on the menu. I couldn't figure out why they'd have brats (bratty kids) at a food stand, and felt really dumb asking what brats were when I was next in line.

That said, thanks for reminding me... I have a tired that seems to be leaking air :P

I think I've heard the phrase before once by a younger guy at work talking about it. But I thought he said something like "Hairspray bands". But I get your drift about "Metal hair bands". One comes to mind is POISON. Like these guys with incredible hair styles and they wave it all over the place. Mostly METALICA type bands of the 80's. And you thought it was going to stop there eh? Well, the music and bands have gone off the edge now. All gloves are off and they keep growing wierder by the hour.

I get a kick out of '20-somethings' singing a song which is cover an old R&B classic. They’re always so shocked, shocked I know the words to the song. *laughing*
