Take a look at other posts regarding HKG.
Our NY or theirs? Holiday prices can be quite high and HKG hotels are not cheap. Look at the Y's. Try sites like think2travel.com or agoda for sample pricing. Often you can get deals emailing hotel direct.

Wherever you go, there you are
I may pop over next week if everything works out...and stay at the NOVOTEL on Nathan Rd.
MRS 767: Our New Years... i looked at the hotel u stayed at this year b4 I made this post they are all booked up.... still wondering is Tsim Sha Tsui where I want to be?
Tsin Sha Tsu is a great location and most attractions on the Kowloon side are within walking distance. Then again the metro in Hong Kong basically can take you to most places in the city so just make sure you have an octupucs card.

I agree about TST unless you can spring for a bit of a treat and stay up in the midlevels on HKIsland--Bishop Lei Hotel but make sure it's harbour view mini suite for two--outstanding vista of TST and ALL of Victoria Harbour. It's above and behind the most famous skyline bldg in HKI--Bank of China Tower, Hotel is on Robinson Road and requires a bus to reach most of the city. (I walked once--not too tough--doubt Id walk back up ever!)It's just different. It's near a zoo and aviary. Of course the upper floors are BEST best--your view skims over and in between the tops of the HK skyscrapers.
I think Nathan Road is great option. The Langham has sister hotel right there, too. http://hongkong.eatonhotels.com/room...ial_offers.htm
no clue about $

Try the YMCA Salisbury hotel
Some people I know stay at Ibis North Point (I think spongebue stayed there?). I've stayed there before and cheap, but it is on HK Island and a few train stops to get back to HK/Central
