I believe you will have to return to the ticket counter to check in on DL. The go back thru security seat assignment at gate. Some of the concourses are like going to other countries. Do your research on "usual" gates.
It's all because AF can't check you in for the DL leg unless it's a rev codeshare. (unless that's changed recently)
