Thread: Tips for Non-reving through CDG

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I just realized, after buying the zed ticket I did get an email from AF and printed some type of coupon/e-ticket so that should help! Thanks for the info on the $39 skyclub hint! We usually fly non-stop destinations to avoid unpleasant bumping but hey, sometimes you have to fly out of your comfort zone! So, this is our first intl trip with a stop-over.

I'm hoping the scenario you wrote for arriving and transiting from Delta to Air France in CDG from the USA is going to be the same when we fly from EVN on Air France and need to transit at CDG on our Delta flight back to ATL? I thought I had read somewhere it might be a different when trying to fly back to USA?

We heard CDG was a nightmare for non-revs, I know it's what you make it, but wanted some more experienced non-rev-er's advice. I feel more comfortable having received your advice! If you think of anything else, I'm happy to hear it! :-)

Thanks for all the hints! Do you think 1.5 hours is enough time for going out, checking in, going through security and getting to our flight? Someone on another forum said that CDG gives seats away only after the flight departs....what? I'll let you know how EVN is! :-)

I will try to fly the same route in june (yes, let us know about Armenia).
GP net is very accurate about the loads if it is green, it is open and yellow is quite a good chance.
CDG is a quite mess for everybody specially in summer or during French holidays. I go through there six to seven times a year.
Non reving is not more difficult than anywhere else.
Regarding the transit area it depends on the terminal and the gate I think that unfortunately there is a great chance that you will have to leave it. Custom and immigration can go fast security can be a nightmare. 1h30 minutes will be cutting very very close unless DL departs from the same Terminal in this case you might have a chance.
The arrival on AF will most likely be on T2E what about your flight on DL?
Sometimes AF give seats after they close the flight sometimes they give you a priority verification which will allow you to go through security and they will call names at the gate. If the flights are wide open, they give you the boarding pass right away.

Were thinking of DL to PRG and then OK to EVN...

Forgot to let you know about EVN (Yerevan, Armenia)! It was a great place if you are like me and like the "off the beaten track" places that are not overly inundated with touristy tourists. If your wife's mother is Armenian, it might be a wonderful destination for you to try! We are returning in 2 weeks!
