Default Any issues with carry-on size/weight when flying OAL?

Has anyone had issues with their carryon luggage? We are flying Delta on employee status and connecting with ezed tickets at CDG on Air France. I think the European standards are slightly smaller and less weight allowance than Delta international allowances. Has anyone taken on a standard 22'' roller board and had any issues with it's size/weight on Air France?
    Thanks!

Never flown Air France, but just returned from zedding on Emirates and Qatar. No issues there, even with checked bags. Mine was over teh 50 lb limit, but was never charged.

On another note, I did fly Qantas once, and they would not let me carry on more than my backpack. My roller board had to be checked.

Aer Lingus made me check my 22 as it was over the weight limit, but it's within size limits. BA/EK/TAP, etc have all allowed me to carry it on. I've never flown AF

I just flew on OK between PRG and AMS on a zed fare, my roller bag was your normal roller bag size "USA standards". At the gate the agent made me check my bag in the little bag size check module- it did not fit. I had to check my bag at the gate. I recently had a similar experiences with LH in FRA and MUC, EURO or should I say International carriers are much more strict when it comes to baggage allowance. You should mentally prepare yourself to check your bag in at CDG with AF, if they let it go then you got lucky.

Maybe they will gate check it then, as we will be "in transit" in CDG.

Friends just called me about similar but they are checking bags CDG to Bremen (2 each) I told them about the weight and everything else on AF site is there. We had no trouble w/22" rollers + personal item on either AF or OK (the czechs check nothing!!) Only once did I have a carry-bag checked at the desk (CX, I think).

I think a lot has to do with weight, when I zed fared from HKG to SFO on Cathay Pacific they would weigh the carry on's, they limited them to something like 8 kilo's. I had a small rollerbag (one that fits in the regional overheads) and they did not even ask to weigh mine. I was lucky because my bag was way over the limit for weight. Also, I think a lot of non U.S. airlines only allow 1 carry on, regardless of size.

Thanks for all the helpful tips! I hope I don't have to worry about having only ONE carry-on...that would eliminate my purse/computer bag deal! I think we'll just see what happens with one carry-on each plus personal item (purse/computer bag). Traveling is a great adventure! It's even greater when you fly non-rev! Love it! :-)

I think in general, US airlines don't tend to worry about carry-ons, especially on the mainline planes. We once had a planeside bag (the kind the regional jets do where you pick your bag up at the plane, not baggage claim) that must have been filled with bricks. Felt like it was over 50 pounds. We did a gate check for that one instead because of its weight, but that was really crazy.

On the other hand, the European airlines routinely check the weight of carry-on bags at check-in. I've had that happen a couple times in Spain on a paid ticket, but thankfully the first checked bag would be free on those airlines. I also had to have my bag's weight checked on CX FRA-HKG and HKG-SFO, which led to me having to check those bags as well.

I fly AF on a zed ticket quite often. It really depends if it is an Airbus they let me go sometimes with a carry on of 22 by 14 by 9 sometimes not. If you say that you will connect it helps...
