Default AA to start recalling furloughed pilots next year

Does this mean no merger with US??
American has about 650 pilots on furlough, most of them who lost their jobs after the terror attacks of September 2001. The airline, trying to restructure under bankruptcy protection, said earlier in the year that over the next five years it plans to hire as many as 2,500 new pilots, the story said.
American will lose 491 pilots to mandatory age 65 retirement over the next five years, and it has ordered hundreds of new aircraft that could increase its total flying and hence its need for more pilots. As many as 1,000 American pilot positions could become open through retirements and other attrition according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram

Get rid of the old fogies and beef up with the young studs! Make the flight attendants happy.
