Yes, that was a thumbs up. I doubt you see that kind of action in U.S. based airlines. I am forever an ANA fan as of then. I will try to use them more frequently. I remember going to the airport, and suddenly when the counters opened up, they all said something in Japanese, and bowed, as though greeting everyone thanking us for their business or something. We used to do contract work for ANA, JAL, NORTHWEST, ASIANA a few years back on Saipan. Since then, nobody services that island anymore except for Cape Air which is operated by United Airlines. The bottom fell out on Saipan, and its all gone as far as airlines pouring in there. Thanks to the closing of the garment factories and economic Globalism. We used to push back the Japanese airline planes and wave to all the passengers. Things are done differently in Japan, we can never really understand it from our culture. They like all that politeness.
