Longest Tarmac delays FEB..CLT got hammered...
Domestic Flights with Longest Tarmac Delays Exceeding Three Hours
- Chautauqua Airlines flight 3093 from IND-CLT 2/16/13 – delayed on tarmac 291 minutes
- Piedmont Airlines flight 4160 from CRW-CLT 2/16/13 – delayed on tarmac 281 minutes
- US Airways flight 1203 from CLT-IAH, 2/16/13 – delayed on tarmac 270 minutes
- Mesa Airlines flight 2604 from SRQ-CLT 2/16/13 – delayed on tarmac 269 minutes
- Air Wisconsin Airlines flight 3877 from CLE-CLT 2/16/13 – delayed on tarmac 265 minutes
All on the same date as well. I assume there was a big storm going through CLT that day or something. Regardless, oof!

There's actually a point to that question. I don't remember the numbers, but with the relatively new laws about tarmac delays, the limit is bumped up a little bit if passengers are offered food during that time.

Ok, bad weather flight delays, that’s something we expect. But there are hundreds of reasons flights are delayed - floating lawn chairs, escapee dogs, lovesick turtles.
