Default Spirit Airlines to sell Wine-In-A-Can

Spirit announced Wednesday that passengers can now relax on a flight with cheap, no-frills wine--in a can.

Spirit Airlines has teamed up with another Florida company, Friends Beverage Group, makers of Friends Wine in a Can, to offer what the airline calls "delectable wine products in a convenient, environmentally friendly container with 6% alcohol content."
The price: $7 per can or two for $12 or, for those long flights, three for $16.
The wine selection will include Rose Moscato, White Moscato, Strawberry Moscato, Peach Moscato, Original Red Sangria and Original White Sangria...

equally amusing is that most normal wines exceed 10% alcohol. You can buy "real" wine for $7 on almost any major US carrier.

Since when is Spirit eco-friendly? Why not do something better than sweetened swill in a can? Are they trying to crank up the pax on sugar? That doesn't sound like a good idea...
This makes more sense--and the "glasses" can be easily recycled. IDIOTS

And this.....Spirit Airlines (SAVE) has been upgraded by TheStreet Ratings from hold to buy. The company’s strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, notable return on equity, solid stock performance and impressive record of earnings per share growth. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company shows low profit margins.”

"You can have any wine you want, as long as it's Moscato" (or Sangria). Then again, given their market I guess that does make some sense...
