I fixed it. The : in the smiley was right next to the link, so the forum software thought it was part of the link.

Worth pointing out that that airport just recently started commercial service. I think it was the last (for sure one of the last) capital cities to not have an airport with commercial service. My old station manager just got back from spending a few weeks out there for its opening, as did my trainer for a class I had last week.

Edit: And I forgot to mention - I did a project for a geography class a long time ago looking at which airports could be considered unnecessary due to size and a closer commercial airport nearby (such as ATW and GR as well as cities that should have commercial service but didn't. I'll have to dig that project up again, but I do remember that Topeka, Provo (UT), and Santa Fe (NM) all came up on that list, and all 3 have started commercial service since then. SAF actually seems to be doing pretty well - I think it was only an environmental thing stopping them at the time of the study.

I've spent a lot of time in that airport. It was always a bit funny to see the old abandoned 1980s UA ticket counter. Some fantastic people there, and of course no visit is complete without a stop at the jet away cafe!
