Long shot here guys, but fancy a trip to the gulf coast of Florida from the 3-13 March with the wife. I know I know, it's high season but is there anywhere I could get 10 nights for $500 all in? Cheap motel etc?

Under $500 for 10 nights - that’s going to be tough, ever think of renting an RV?

I think a rent-a-tent and car is a better idea. I hope you mean just motel, right? They can be VERY sleazy and the drug culture is Fla is getting pretty bad. What about taxes, gas, insurance for RV or car? I think you're dreaming unless you look for share a room on a website and I'm be leery in Florida. There are some seriously warped people there. Reduce your days or got somewhere like Malta (Gozo).
Gulf Coast has some great beaches but all high school and college kids know that and they have bigger budgets than that. The "snowbirds" haven't gone back to the Northern US states yet but if you keep looking you might find something. Be careful with your searches.

Thanks for the reply people. Is FLA getting bad with drugs? I had no idea. As its turned out my buddy in AZ has invited us over so we are off there. Thanks again
Smart choice--free digs and a friend! You'll be able to see some natural sights, too.
Re: FL and drugs--extensive problems w/oxycontin products and heroin. Spring breakers are often into ecstasy but alcohol/pot are cheap drugs of choice. Not in all areas, but central areas and major cities have serious issues.
Have a great time in AZ!
