Show up early! Small airports have limited personnel and tend to close the counter to board the aircraft. Failure to show up more than 40 minutes ahead with a bag or without a boarding pass will result in missing the flight.

So True. I was the last person in MLU to board. I was at the airport bar knocking back a couple of beers with 45min to board when the Gate Agent/Load Master/Push Team(Cross utilization) said the airport was closing...
