So, my companies travel center recently announced we have access to this site, GoBumpFree.
This seems to be for airline employee's (active or retired), family and friends, they do ask for airline employee ID information.
I have not used it yet, but sounds good. You must make last minute reservations, within 72 hrs of check in, and then if you get bumped on the way to the destination you can cancel without any penalty or cost.
The company seemed to have started about a year ago but have never heard of them.
