    Exclamation Non Rev Etiquette

Saw this article and thought it might spark a discussion.

    The Basics
    1. A non-rev felt she had received poor service from AC gate agents, she filed a formal complaint, e-mailed AC officials and.....the media.
    2. AC revoked the flying privileges of the non-rev for two years
    3. AC also revoked he mom's travel privileges for two years.
    4. Mom is the AC employee.
    5. Daughter is surprised mom's travel privileges were revoked and is very sorry.

The employee (mom) is responsible. Any complaints should have gone thru her and certainly should not have involved the media. At least the privileges were not permanently revoked.

I read this one as well. I can't imagine what the daughter was thinking when she included the media in her complaint. The complaint should have been made to her mother and then handled by her mother and employee travel together. No one else should ever have known about the issue.

Good. Our ladies in ATL are not playing games anymore. Get out of line and they are typing swiftly behind that counter to EMP managers and OAL Skyteam partners. We chat about it every night on the EMP bus about who is next on the list lol..

Guess since I’m not DL or skyteam I’m good to go. 😎 Honestly the ladies at ATL have been great. One even delayed a flight to accommodate the long list of nonrevs. I was at the bottom but I was able to get on the next flight since they cleared so many earlier.

Glad it worked out. ATL does double the amount of any airport in the country. Our gals and guys put in work everyday.

I have to admit I have been extended some special treatment now and then. While no one ever delayed a flight for me, I have been moved up a few times - of course it might have been weight and balance , and one time a very anxious pax needed a kind word + I do have a great smile

You have to be a special kind of stupid to file a complaint when you're basically being extended free (or extremely discounted) travel. The sense of entitlement with some people never ceases to amaze me.

A basic rule, you travel nonrev, you keep low profile and if there is any problem you try to resolve it quietly, I never had one in 26 years, maybe I got lucky but I think it is a question of attitude. I never was a gate agent or a flight attendant but I realize or hard this job can be, I do not need to give them more burden. Just a question of common sense and knowledge of how it goes. As I-Fly-The-Eskimo wrote "You have to be a special kind of stupid to file a complaint when you're basically being extended free (or extremely discounted) travel. The sense of entitlement with some people never ceases to amaze me". That's all I have to say
