Default New to ATL and enjoying it!

Hello all! I have been enjoying reading this forum for a while. There are so many knowledgeable and helpful people on this site! I consider it a privilege to have stumbled upon it some time ago and have benefitted from it already! :-)

We moved to Atlanta from Minneapolis 2 years ago and enjoy being at this location as it's an easy flight to many destinations! My husband works for Delta so lots of travel options!

Thanks to everyone on this board for all your helpful travel hints! We are traveling via CDG in a few days and have heard it's tricky to transfer there...so, I'm going to do some research here to see what I can find!

    Have a great day!

Thanks for the kind words B.K., it's always nice to hear that the Forum has been of help. Yes there are quite a few posts about Paris/CDG. As I recall “mrs767er” & “zedman” posted about connecting through CDG, add those user names when you do your CDG search.
And do report back, it's always nice to hear from a CDG pro.

Thanks for the helpful hints! I tried a search using CDG...that of course returned too many posts. I did finally find some info but will go back and use those two names in the search criteria! Thanks again!

BK--you might want to consider looking at CVG instead of ATL, in case the nonrev list is long (not sure what seniority your husband has) We have service out of here once a day so it's a decent option.

Charles de Gaulle airport Terminal Maps
    also:
Paris Maps - Maps to get to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG)

Also rely on destination experts at tripadvisor.com for local advice
Use the public transit to get into Paris--take the trains. Make sure you give yourself LOTS of time to check in for return flight. CDG can get really long lines w/multiple flts.
there is a large string of hotels in the Roissy neighborhood near CDG--free shuttles to every price imaginable. Look at your Accor discount website (find the info on deltanet perks) for LOW rates in case you get bumped.

Thanks for the links to the maps! I will check tripadvisor too for info. I did ask hubbie if we should go through CVG but he thinks with our seniority and throwing down a 2 should do the trick. :-) Here's crossing both fingers that works to get bizclass! We HAVE to take advantage of high seniority before we become retirees...yuck! :-)
