Default Took the plunge and registered

Hi everyone! I thought I would introduce myself. My husband works for Delta on the A320 out of NYC. We've been with Delta for about 5 years. We were with Delta Connection before that. We just love to use our travel bennies. This coming Friday, we are flying to Tokyo either via JFK-NRT or DTW-HND. I have been to Tokyo so many times. I just love that city and Asia in general. So anyways, I can already see that I am going to like it here and gain some valuable information. I spent all night last night, perusing the forums.

Welcome aboard A320W. There’s a seat for you right down front, next to the buffet and the bar. Have a great time in Tokyo and when you get back drop us a few lines about your trip. We don’t have a Tokyo trip post as of yet. *wink*

We'll miss each other--we leave later in the week--probably MSP or ATL (777 flatbeds--good stuff!)
and connect to BKK for 3 then Bali DPS for another 10 days.
I know what you mean about Asia--so much to see and great prices most places. I happen to love HKG but it's $$. Haven't spent any significant time in Tokyo or Seoul--just airports.
My husband is JFK based and goes east. He misses BUD and AMM. PRG is our fave.
I am a total travel freak, too. Were you Comair or other connection?
PS--maybe you'll want to wear a helmet--I'll pick your brain someday!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! You are correct, Mrs767er. We used to be Comair out of CVG. We lived in Kentucky for a short bit in the Florence area. I am hoping to get on the new 747 BE flatbed seats. I want to try those bad boys out. My only gripe is that it took 17 seats out of business. But, oh well. I never like nonreving out of ATL, because of the high load factors and people listing at the last minute.

I am always looking for fellow Delta non revs to travel with, as I travel alone by myself a lot.

I don't think they are using the new 74s out of JFK--only a few in service out of either MSP or DTW. You'll get the reg BE seats out of NY. Don't get too excited about those new seats--I think they are same as on 76's . They are flat but not my fave since feet go under the console of the diagonal pax in front. We're in NKY. I hate to travel alone.

Travelnet is showing it as the new 747s out of JFK and the old ones are still in DTW. Of course, that could be wrong, which is entirely possible with Travelnet. LOL. It's been forever since I have been through CVG. It's almost like a ghost town. It's weird that concourse C is not there anymore. I loved getting chicken ceasar wraps from that one sandwich place.

And another thing, and I know I am in the minority, I don't really care for the flat bed seats on the 777. I am a side sleeper and it is hard to do that on that aircraft. I sleep better in the pod seats. Of course, I do not complain when I get a seat up front. I am always grateful.

I consider the flats on 777 "pods"--they are self-contained herringbone style (a little "coffin-shaped?) Are you talking about the seats that have the round Austin Powers' type shape? I disliked those on the airbus because I felt like I was always sliding. I'm a side sleeper and that doesn't work for me since I'm very tall. They hit me all the wrong places--I'm bony!
I agree about all the front seats--or top deck--I'm HAPPY, too!

Yep. The Austin Power seats. I curl up in a fetal position and go right to sleep. Now, we are thinking about going to Prague. The Narita flight is fillng up. This will be our first time over there. Any tips?
