I have taken home both revenue and non-rev stranded passengers in the past.
My most memorable was an Alaskian 18 year old that arrived durning a LGA snow storm. She was away from home the first time going to college connecting off NW to Piedmont going to upstate NY. There were no hotel rooms to be had. The Girl was truely a fish out of water. She had no credit card, never been in a big city and after calling home to check with her parent we found they only spoke eskimo.
She came home, slept on my apartment couch and got out for college the next day.
Ever since then I have kept an extra toothbrush, soap and pillow for some stranded person I may pick up at the airport.
