Yolie...Maui is my family's favorite destination...we always go at the end of July and have been very lucky non-reving. Check out www.vrbo.com(Vacation Rentals By Owner)..that's how we found our condo last year...It's a GREAT site...by staying in a condo we were able to have breakfast in...pack our lunch...and bbq our dinner...(three children-don't eat out too often!)...Have a great time...

I've not been to Maui in July but have sucessfully nonreved to Honolulu in mid-late July without any trouble.

There are a number of properties that offer interline discounts. Check out the following.

    www.ohanahotels.com
    www.outrigger.com
    www.astonhotels.com

Ohana and Outrigger offer online booking for nonrevs. Just tick "Travel Industry Rates" on the booking page. Once you've chosen a property you'll have to call Aston for their interline rates.

    Hope this helps!

I dont know about your non rev chances because it depends on what airline you work for and where you are coming in from, but I say just go for it and enjoy the adventure. you will get there sooner or later and it is worth it because that is a great island to visit.

I ALWAYS stay at the Kamaole Sands in the south, but I like it layed back and not so touristy.. You can find the info for it on the web at
    www.castleresorts.com

I think the rates are about $85.00 per night for a single room and $130.00 for a two bedroom. These units are right across the street from the beach and all come with a full kitchen and the place also has a great pool and hot tub. you will see the pictures from the web site.

Hope this helps, let me know if I can help with any other info.

Planning on going to Maui in October - suggestions for the best and cheapest place for Airline Employee would greatly be appreciated.

    Mags,

Thanks for your www.vrbo.com advice. It's been the best place I've looked at for good condo rates. All of the interline rates at the big resorts are in the $150 range. I've been searching vrbo and have many to choose from at about $65-$70 a night. It does take a lot of research though, to make a good choice and ensure your at a nice property.

Can you tell me which one you stayed at? Can anyone else advise on any of these smaller Maui condos.

I'm looking in Kihei at Kauhale Makai and Waiohuli Beach Hale. Both have nice grounds and are on the beach but their little beaches don't look that nice. I could go with Kihei Akahi or Kihei Alii Kai and be across the street from Kamaole Beach #1 or Kamaole Beach #2. Any idea which would be best? Anyone familiar with these beaches?

    Evan,

The Kamole Sands pool is closed in Sept.

Are you familiar with any of the properties I've listed above?

No Chris, I have not stayed at any other locations in Maui. But I think the best value for your buck is in Kihei. There are a lot of condo's there and they are all less expensive than the places in Lahina. I would look in the ASU travel guide as well, they have a lot of listings.
    Good luck..
