Taking a quick trip to FLL this next week, probably staying one night.
Any suggestions on where to stay? Someone told me the Lauderdale Beach Hotel is right on the beach and the hotel shuttle will take me right there from the airport. I wouldn't have to rent a car. I don't even know if there are places to eat around there. Don't want to be stranded.
Do you think I need a car?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have never been to FLL before.
    Thanks... Luv2fly

We've had this question before and for the life of me I can't find it. I'm sure a few people will respond with their ideas.

While I can't give you a recommendation on where to stay I can tell you where NOT to stay. Ramada FLL Airport. Long story, but suffice it to say they did not leave me with a good impression - quite the opposite!

You can get ground transportion at the airport and it is right on the beach. A great beach, within 2 blocks a great town square with resturants and stores. They will give you a airline rate. When we went in Feb. 2 nights were $99 for both.

Thanks ME and Paul. We did have a wonderful time. We ended up staying at the Crew Hotel( Lauderdale Beach Hotel)..it was okay. It was a perfect location, just the bathrooms were tiny, and if you are with your family and using the bathroom as a changing room, it was murder!! The walls were extremely thin, luckily we didn't hear anything inappropiate!!
We are heading down again in another week. You said that the Holiday Inn was on the beach, think we will try that one this time. Thanks for your help.

Just a reminder it was "Hoilday Inn By the sea " we stayed at that is the name of it in the town of "Lauderdale by the Sea". Which different than Fort Lauderdale ( 5 min difference) Many Hoilday Inns be sure to get the correct one.

I am going to fly into FLL and take a cruise out of there. Does anyone know the easiest and least expensive way to go from the airport to the harbor? Just as a back up, how hard is it to get from MIA to FLL harbor? I have a little time as our ship won't leave for about 2 months.

Are you arriving a day or two early? Most hotels that operate airport shuttles also operate pier shuttles. If you're arriving the day of your sailing your ship may have shuttles from the airport - for an additional cost.

I'm going to be arriving a day early because of the time difference but my sister will be arriving the morning of the cruise. I'll check with the hotel I stay in because I want to stay near the harbor for the night. She's going to try that Delta off shoot "Song" because they fly nonstop.
