Vicki I thought this website might come in handy in planning your road trip.

Once you here, use 1-800-427-7623 for current road conditions. BTW, I'm assuming your're planning to take I-15 south out of Vegas to LA. The I-15 is closed 30 miles south of the Nevada border, the detour will add 3 hours to your drive.

Regarding your question about sunrise and sunset, don't believe all that movie stuff, I live in LA and trust me, vampires aren't that big of a problem.

Takes all the fun out of it if we can't believe the movie stuff!!

Thanks for the traffic website. We are (well were?!) planning to take the I-15 south out of Vegas to LA - it won't be until early October that we will be there. Do you know why the road is closed? Seems like a major inconvenience to anyone travelling or intending to travel that way?

By the way, you don't know anywhere we could see anyone or anything from ALIAS the TV show - my son is right into that show - he was trying to convince us to get a flight over a couple of weeks earlier when the cast are all going to be in Disneyland.

Thanks for your help - everything seems to have fallen into place - Vicki

There's construction on sections of I-15. In October you might miss the detour, but you will definitely hit a section with one lane of traffic in each direction. Now you might be lucky, but then again you might end up following a motor home for 18 miles
Also driving out of Vegas a good midway place to stop is Barstow. We stop a little south at the huge Barstow Factory Merchants Outlet Center (you'll see if from the interstate) the outlet has over 100 name brand outlet stores and nearby are gas stations and restaurants. I always stop in the In-N-Out Burger, a little something for the road.

Unfortunately the "ABC Primetime Preview Weekend" was Sept 6 & 7, and YES, Jennifer Garner was there, maybe next year.

Oh well, think we'll have to risk following a motor home; too late to change the itininery! I remember last time we stopped at Barstow; who knows maybe we might have a big win in Vegas and can spend up big! (Probably not much chance of that as I'm more the laze by the pool type!). I can't remember the In-N-Out Burger but I'll keep an eye out for it - we don't have those over here yet. See you
